How to wash your make-up brushes

Hey there,
as I told you a while ago, today I'm going to show you how to wash your brushes!

Why should you wash your brushes?
When you use your brushes regularly, product gets stuck in it, and that will make bacteria grow in there. Whenever you use your brush on your face, anything bad on your face gets into the bristles and stay there. So if you don't wash your brushes properly, the bacteria will grow. Everytime you use dirty brushes on your face, you'll get the bacteria all over it and that can break you out. If your eye brushes are dirty, that can also cause you eye infections. Washing your brushes is so important! When you use dirty brushes, your make-up applying can get worse because there's always leftover product in it.

How to wash your brushes?
There's 2 ways:
Spot Cleaning and Deep Cleaning!
Spot Cleaning is there to do it almost every day, on the go, maybe even in between when you want to use multiple colors with one brush. The best way to do it is to use brush cleanser. MAC makes one, and some other department store brands, too, but I don't think there's any available at the drugstore. Just pour some of it onto a paper towel and wipe your brush on it until it is clean. I find you can also do this with normal make-up remover, but I don't know whether that's bad for your brushes. Or I also do this with make-up remover wipes and wipe the brushes on them, because they're way easier to get.
Deep Cleaning should be done every 7 to 10 days. This is when you wash your brushes with water and stuff to get out all of the dirt and bacteria. You want to rinse your brushes under the faucet and wash them out with some product. You can either take a special brush cleansing soap, some mild shampoo, baby shampoo or mild soap. Just pour some product onto your palm and swirl the wetted brush back and forth to get out all of the dirt. Make sure to rinse it well to get all of the product out of it! I would recommend washing the brushes you use for liquid products, such as foundation, every single day with this deep cleansing method, because bacteria builds up way better in liquid consistencies. That's at least how I do it.

I hope that helped some of you out! Tell me, how do you wash your brushes?
xoxo, Misch

Review: Sigma F80 Brush

Hey guys :)
I got this Sigma brush a while back and I want to tell you what I think about it!

Information:
- called Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki F80 (the old numbering is SS197)
- available at sigmabeauty.com for 16 $
- has synthetic bristles
- the handle is pretty thick
- the bristles are black on the bottom and white on the top
- it's a face brush, made for both liquid and powder products

Application with powder products:
It's really nice, easy to blend and you don't need a lot of product. It blends it in so nicely and I love that way of application. You can buff the powder into your face so well and it connects with your foundation, making your face appear more flawless.

Application with liquid products:
As nice as with powders! Since the bristles are synthetic, it doesn't absorb any product, so you don't need a lot and won't waste anything! The surface is getting almost flawless, depends on your skin, of course ;) It blends it in so well, I love it too!

Washing the brush:
I wash my brushes about once a week with baby shampoo, and that's what I did with this one when I used it with powder products. When I used it for foundation, I washed it after every use. It lathers really well with the baby shampoo I use and gets totally clean! It didn't lose any hair so far, too :) Unfortunately it takes a while for it to dry, but that's okay for me, because I always let it dry over night.
Brush cleansing blog post is coming up some time soon :)

the hair is really dense
Bottom Line:
I love love love it! It perfect for any kind of application, so I highly recommend it!

Does anyone own this brush as well? Do you love it as much as I do?
Hope you liked the review!

That's what happens when I visit dm: I just can't leave the store without buying something!

Hi guys,
haul time!!
as you might have guessed from the title and as I promised you yesterday, here's my haul :) I didn't find the LEs that interesting, but oh well... The haul's not too big this time, but still...;)
That's what I got:

- Alverde Eyeshadow brush: this one is new in their line and I wanted to try it out :) So far I like it, it picks up the color pretty well :)
- Alverde Eyeliner brush: I already own this one, but I got a second one to just it as a nail art brush. Let's see if it'll work!
- Alverde Zauberwald LE eyeshadow in Magic Spirit: When this LE came out in August, I wanted some things but never got any because they were sold out. Now I found this single last eyeshadow, yay! Like it, the color is a greenish brown.
- p2 lipliner in 03 business lady: this is a bright red color, exactly the thing I was going for :) I'm not sure whether I like the red lips look yet, but I'll try it out :)
- MNY blush in 301: In a video by xKarenina on Youtube she mentioned this blush and said she thought it was like a better version of Nars Orgasm Blush. That's why I had to have it! It like the color, it's a peachy pink with gold shimmer :) so pretty!

Also, my Sigma order that I placed on Black Friday because of the free shipping costs arrived today! Yay!
Sigma E30 and F80 Brushes
I got the Sigma Flat Top Sythetic Kabuki F80 and the Sigma Pencil E30. They're both great, I like them a lot! I already washed them and they did not lose one single hair! Amazing, they're so good quality!

And that's it! Do you own any of the things I bought?
I'll see you guys later!

September 2010 Favorites

Hey guys,
September's already over and now it's really getting fall - grey and rainy outside, but really cozy inside: it's time for spending the evenings in front of the TV, drinking a cup of hot tea:) I love love love this season so much

Evian facial spray - this stuff is so amazing :) it moisturizes, refreshes and cares my skin so well, and the mist is so fine. I used it several times a day, and I'm almost out of it :( I'll get a new one, though :)

TheBodyShop Born Lippy lipbalm in raspberry - I really like this lip balm, it tastes great, cares my lips and gives a nice pink shine. Definitely a fav.

Yves Rocher Aquarelles Vegetales Perfume - Y'all know that I love this scent so much - and I still do :) I used it a lot during this month.

Essence Soft Matt eyeshadow in 03 Silky Smooth - School started again for me this month and so I had to do a lot of nude looks everday and this eyeshadow was my go-to color. It's a matte chocolate brown, perfect to fill in my eyebrows, to darken up my outer corner or to simply shade my crease. This color is so convenient!

Beliance Foundation Brush - This brush is perfect to apply my foundation, I really like it!

Jesse's Girl Enamel in Garnet - This is such a perfect color for fall :) it looks very similar to Chanel Rouge Noir and I love it

p2 nail polish thinner - I had a lot of problems with too thick nail polishes this month and this one helped me a lot.

My Uggs - These aren't real Ugg Boots, but I still love them. So cute shoes :)

McDonalds Mocha Frappe - I love McDonalds Mocha Frappe so much (I kinda love everything in this post...), it tastes so amazing

So guys, these were my favs for the month of September. What were yours?
xoxo, Misch

MNY Basic is chic LE eyeshadow in 602A - I read on a blog that it was similar to MAC Satin Taupe so I decided to give it a try; I like the color.

Alverde baked eyeshadow in 06 intensive turquoise - The color is really pretty and it was on sale; unfortunately it already broke in my bag; I should be more careful, I guess :P

Essence Denim Wanted LE geleyeliner in 01 vintage style - finally got it! :) like it.

NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Yogurt - I love NXY Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils and this color is really pretty.

Beliance Eyeshadow Brush flat and round - I already own their Foundation Brush and I really like them; I was actually planning to get a Powder Brush, but I didn't like it.

Evian Eau Minerale Naturelle Facial Spray - Love it! Perfect to refresh you face!

Beauty Essentials For School

Hey everyone out there,
today I want to show you the beauty products I take to school with me. Keep in mind that these are just my beauty essentials for school, everyone finds other things necessary! I would love to see your beauty essentials for school, so if you do a blogpost about it, send me the link or just write the products in the comments!
And now, let's get started:

Essence Pure Skin Oil Control Paper Green Tea - I have oily skin which means that blotting tissues are a must for me. I especially like to use them after sports class.

Labello Lipcare Velvet Rose - It's just a basic lip balm and I always have one with me, but not always by Labello.

Manhattan ClearFace Coverstick in 76 sand - Just in case I get a pimple or my make-up fades over the day, then I would need it.

CadeaVera Compact Powder in Beige - I apply my powder after I blotted my face and this is one of my favorite pressed powders.

Black Mascara - This one is just the tiniest one I have, I always take black mascara with me.

Essence 2in1 Kajal Pencil in 01 Black & White - Black and white are the most basic colors and for eyeliner they're always useable.

Essence Volume & Gloss Lip Maximizer in 06 crazy about you - This lipgloss doesn't add a lot of color to the lips, but it adds a lot of shine and it tastes minty, and that's perfect for everyday.

Yves Rocher Watercolor Effect Blush in Corail Nude - You know I love this stuff :) A little bit of blush can change your whole appearence, and this blush is super easy to use and small enough to carry it with you everywhere.

Essence Blush Brush - It's a pretty small brush and I use it to apply the compact powder.

Isana Med Hand Sanitizer - At school there are so many people with different illnesses, so a hand sanitizer always comes in handy.

These are the products I take to school with me! Do you take more products with you? Or do you think that make-up is not necessary at school?
I'd like to know! :)
Bye, Misch

Nivea Ideal Finish Foundation Review + Use It Up! Product 3

Hi dear readers,
I told you I got the Nivea Beaute Ideal Finish Foundation in this haul, and I thought you might want to hear my thoughts on it!
Basic information:
It claims to give an ideal, even teint and to be longlasting. The foundation is oil-free and non-comedogenic (that means it won't clog your pores). According to the website, it has SPF 8 and contains Vitamine E. It costs something between 6.95 and 9.95 Euros, depending on where you buy it and it's available in 6 different colors. I'm using the color 02 Nude. It's supposed to give high coverage.
It comes in a tube that is in a natural color with a blue bottom and blue text.

Consistency and scent:
The consistency isn't really that liquid, it's more creamy, but still very light and easy to apply. It has a light scent, I'd describe it as a typical lotion/foundation scent. The smell is very light and only noticeable on the face in the first few minutes.
Application and coverage:
The foundation is easy to blend out and it doesn't get streaky, but it does sort of stick to the hair on you face, you want to make sure that it doesn't look weird. I applied it with my fingers and with two different brushes.
With my fingers it was really easy to blend it out and to achieve and even teint. The coverage was not really that high, I still had to use concealer, but if you are fine with medium coverage, this will work for you.
Then I applied it with the Essence Blush Brush.
Yeah, I know, it's a blush brush, but it worked really well! The coverage was now high, I didn't have to use any concealer, although I had some pimples and blackheads. The only downside to this was that I had to use more product, because the bristles of the brush seemed to absord more product than they gave to the skin.
The second brush I used was the Beliance Foundation Brush
(available at Douglas and very inexpensive!) and this one was really good, too! It gave the same even look as the Essence Blush Brush did, and it gave high coverage, too, but this one didn't absorb that much product!
So I prefer to apply it with the Beliance Brush.

Finish and wear:
It looks really even and gives high coverage and it looks a bit powder-y, so you might not even have to set it with powder.
I reallt lasted all day long without fading too much. It doesn't get greasy or oily over the day (even with my oily skin!) and it's still there at the end of the day.

Bottom line:
I really like this foundation! It didn't cause me any break-outs and it gives a nice evne teint with high coverage, so I'm totally happy with it. I don't know if you can really call it ideal, but that's different for every person.

What do you think? Have you already tried this one? Would you like to give it a try? Tell me!

Project Use It Up!: I finished my Peach Body Butter from TheBodyShop today.
I love this one, so I'll repurchase it soon, but not before I finished Project Use It Up!

Okay guys, I'll see y'all soon! Bye, Misch

Another Haul :)

Hey guys,
so I went shopping with my friend this weekend. Since I live in a small town we decided to go to a bigger town with more stores by train. Unfortunately, I had a headache all day long and my stomach hurt, so it wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be. But we still enjoyed ourselves, although I was pretty disappointed. I didn't find any cute clothes!! :P That never happened to me before :P
By the way: I'm sorry for posting that many hauls recently, I just have some money right now from my birthday:) I'm not doing my hauls to brag about the things I can afford, I just want to show you want kind of things I like to buy. And if you want hear a bit more about certain products, feel free to tell me! I'll review it :)
So, let's get started with the haul:
I went to a dm, a H&M and a Yves Rocher and bought the following stuff:
- P2 Color Victim Nail Polish in 143 Forever. It's a nude brown tone, one of the kind that I don't really have that much in my collection. I already swatched it on my nail wheel and I like the formula.
- Alverde Gel Eyeliner in 01 Black and the Gel Eyeliner Brush. These are my first products from Alverde. I tried it today and I really like the consistency. The brush is really good, too. It's soft but at the same time very "resistant" (I don't really know how to describe it). You can draw very thin lines with the brush. I even did sports today and the eyeliner lasted all day long and it's not that hard to remove.
Alverde also has some other colors of gel eyeliner in their sortiment and I'll definitively try them out!!
- Balea Young Cleansing Makeup Wipes for combination oily skin. The wipes have a citrusy scent and they remove the makeup pretty well. You can also use these wipes for waterproof makeup.
- H&M nail polish in Sinful Senorita. It's a pink with I ton of glitter and I adore it!! I swatched it on my nail wheel and it's so awesome!! It's a holo and I think it looks like an OPI Suede color but without the matte finish!! (I do own an OPI Suede)
- Yves Rocher Flower Party Perfume and Shower Gel. I really liked the scent of this one when I tried it out, but I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed. The nice floral and fruity scent is gone super quickly and you can just smell vanilia. However, the shower gel which I got for free smells great.
- Yves Rocher Almond Lip Balm. It's my favorite lip balm ever and I just bought a backup. It's perfect!!
- Yves Rocher Box with Q-Tips, cotton balls and cotton pads in it. I got it as a present.

Sorry for the weird background on the picture, I took it at my friend's place.
So, I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you soon!!
Bye, Misch
