Nails of the Day - Yellow & Blue Cheetah Print

What a creative title for this mani, hey?

I was planning on doing an entirely different design tonight but it was really late when I finally sat down to do my nails so I just decided to do something quick and simple. Basically, any type of animal print is always my fall back when I'm not feeling very creative or when I don't have a lot of time so of course, that's what I ended up doing tonight.

Nails of the Day - Funky Plaid

Hey guys!

Today I have a manicure for you that was inspired by a fellow Newfie nail blogger who I really like and respect. She got her design from WAH Nails and the colours she chose are less in your face than the neons I chose so some of you might prefer that look. Check out her blog here and be sure to check out the rest of her awesome designs!

(By the way, this design might look easy but trust me when I say that it was very difficult! It was tough trying to get the lines straight, even with my striper brush and since neons are relatively sheer, I had to go over my lines several times, making it even more difficult than it should have been.)

Anyways, onto my interpretation of the design:

Valentine's Day Nail Art Series - Cute Hearts

Hey guys!

I want to start off by apologizing for only posting nail art recently but I've been completely swamped with school work this whole week! Once things start to calm down I'll get back to more regular posting. :)
In the meantime though, today I have for you the last in my Valentine's series - a simply but cute heart design. I had a few other ideas in mind but I won't get to do any of them before Valentine's Day so I guess I'll just have to save them for next year!

So what does everyone have planned for Valentine's Day? My boyfriend is working in the morning and I'm working in the evening on Monday so we're actually exchanging gifts tonight. We're also planning on going out to supper at some point or another but right now is just too hectic for me with school. Plus, I'd rather go when the Valentine's crowd calms down since I'm not a fan of big crowds.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a safe and happy Valentine's Day! Read Full...

Valentine's Day Nail Art Series - Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Hey everyone!

One of my favourite things about Valentine's Day is that my boyfriend always makes me delicious chocolate dipped strawberries so I decided to do a nail design inspired by that!

One of the best things about this design is that it's a pretty versatile! You could remove the chocolate portion of it and it becomes a fun design for any day of the year and if you used brighter colours this would be a great summer mani.

(By the way, OMB! by Nicole by OPI is STUNNING. I seriously considered leaving it on by itself because I hated to cover some of it up! If you don't already own this colour, I really recommend considering it.) Read Full...

8 Balls

HI ladies.. happy Monday everyone.. just like to share my previous mani.. on this design,  I was inspired on one of my fave game.. "billiard"

this is the only Chez-delaney D series image plate that I have, thanks Lily..
I really like this image plate so much, but it gives me a Lil pain on stamping the pattern on my nails coz the design was a little bit deep engraved on the plate, thats why u get a lot of polish from the plate,   so u really need to be carefully stamp the design on ur nails or else the design will smudge..before i do my konading I always put top coat on my base polish, it protects my base color polish whenever ever I made a  mistake on stamping..
Using a cotton and non-acetone remover I carefully wipes my mistake design...
this could make ur base polish looks so dull but dont worry coz u will apply another top coat after ur konading and will make ur mani look pretty again..

How to do it?
1. Apply ur green base coat let it dry & put top coat
2. Using Sponge, apply  a small amount of  white polish on the center of ur nails
3. Use black special polish and stamp ur 8 ball design where u sponged ur white polish
4. Apply & sealed ur mani using ur top coat

polish used:
essence in the jungle
konad special black & white polish
chez-delaney D14 image plate
sponge

Valentine's Day Nail Art Series - Glitter Kisses

Hey guys!

Today I have the second design in my Valentine's Day series and this is one that I'm actually going to leave on for longer than half an hour! I removed my Lovebug design about half an hour after I posted it and put on my Neon Rainbow Cheetah Print for the second time. However, I actually really like this Valentine's Day mani so this one will be a keeper. :)

Valentine's Series: Nail Art #1: Hearts

Hey everyone,
as I did an EOTD series for Halloween and then a NOTD series for Christmas, I'm gonna do one for Valentine's Day :) I'll be doing not only one category, there'll be some EOTDs and NOTDs for sure!
Tell me if you want a certain design or anything!

Today I did a really cute nail design with hearts that is kinda ordinary for Valentine's Day, but I still liked to do it! To some of you it might be too cute, but you don't have to do it ;)

That's what you need:
- your favorite base coat (mine is Essence pro white french)
- a nude peach shimmer base color (I used China Glaze - Sunset Sail)
- a black nail polish (I used p2 eternal)
- a toothpick or any other tool (I used the Essence nail art stylist)
- a multi-color glitter polish (I used one by Essence, don't know the name, sorry)
- your favorite top coat (I used Essence Nail Art Sealing Top Coat)

That's how to do it:
1. Apply your base coat all over your nails to protect your natural nails.
2. Paint your nails with your nude peach color, use as many coats as needed.
3. Pour some black polish onto a piece of paper and pick it up with your tool/toothpick. Draw some hearts onto your nails. You decide how big they are, if you fill them in or not, how many you put onto one nail - just how you like it to be! :)

4. Add your glitter top coat if you want to, but this step is optional, of course!

5. Add your clear top coat to seal the design.

Btw, this is the China Glaze Polish on it's own:
I like it a lot, it's pretty :)
And that's it! Do you like it, or is it "too cute" for your style??
I'll see you soon!

NOTD January 31st: OPI - Java Mauve-A

Hey everyone :)
First of, I'm really sorry for not posting more. Just a few more days and the main school stress will be over for a while. Then I'll post more regularly again! :)
Today I'm wearing Java Mauve-A by OPI on my nails, and it's the first color from my haul I showed you here *click*
I already described the color in that post, so I'm not gonna do that again. For now, let's just say it's a warm pinkish brown color, like rosewood.
I've been wearing it for a week straight and had no chipping, just tipwear, so I'd say it's the normal good OPI quality. It needed two coats to get opaque, but you could get away with one if you paint your nails were carefully :)
I love this color, because I have nothing like it, and it's such a pretty  neutral color <3 LOVE!
Do you like it, too?
I'll see you soon :)

Valentine's Day Nail Art Series - Lovebug

Hey guys.

So I actually had no plans to do a Valentine's Day series but the only idea I could come up with tonight was a Valentine's inspired one so I guess this will be the start of a series!

Unfortunately, this isn't a great start to this series because I really don't like this mani at all. In fact, it probably won't last a whole day.

To start, I filed my nails before doing this mani and I wasn't paying enough attention because I didn't do a very good job. So now i just want to remove the polish just so that I can re-file my nails.

Next, when I had the whole mani done, I started to put top coat on and the colour from the little heart spangles started to drag and run all over the rest of my nail. I seriously could have cried because I had spent so much time on the design and then to have it ruin before my eyes was painful. I ended up fixing it by putting new spangles on top of the old ones that had no colour anymore and I placed a dollop of top coat on each of the hearts before putting top coat over the entire nail which prevented the colour from dragging.

Nevertheless, I was still very frustrated at the end of everything.

Anyways, enough whining, here's the mani:

NOTD January 23rd: China Glaze - Strawberry Fields

Hey there!
Today I have a polish for you guys which is Strawberry Fields by China Glaze. It's part of the Summer Days collection from 2009, but still available. Strawberry Fields is a pink with gold glass flecks. For those of you who don't know what glass flecks are: they're glitter particles that are bigger than normal glitters, and they almost look like little glass particles. The finish of these polishes is very shiny and smooth, even though there are so much glitter particles in it.
The glass flecks in this polish are very noticable, especially in the sunlight. I love this polish a lot, it's gorgeous and screams SUMMER! :)
I used three coats to get it opaque, but you could get away with 2 thick ones. It lasted 3 days before it showed some tipwear and I removed it after a full week because there were a few chippings.
Do you own this polish, too? What do you think of glass flecks?

Nails of the Day - Neon Rainbow Cheetah

Hey guys!

The mani I'm about to show you was a long time in the making. I really badly wanted to do a neon water marble because I think it would look awesome but I officially suck at water marbling so that didn't work out too well. I really don't know how some of you do it because I just can't get it right! Anyways, after epically failing at water marbling, I still wanted to do something with the neon colours that I had picked out. So, this is what I ended up with:

Nails of the Day - Wonder Woman Inspired

Hey!

So after I saw the press release photos for the new MAC Wonder Woman Collection, I was totally inspired to do a nail design.
At first I was going to wait until the collection actually came out but then I thought that more people might be doing this kind of mani then so I wanted to do it now and it be original. So here it is:

NOTD January 14th: Essie - Merino Cool

Hey there!
Here's another color for them Essie Mini Fall Cube I reviewed here *click*.
And honestly, I'm a little disappointed. I already swatched it in that review, but there I did get that disappointed. My disappointment comes from the color. It looks so pretty purple-grey mulberry in the bottle, on the promo pics, and on swatches I saw, but on me it's just a pewter grey.
And it also chipped on me after one day. I don't know maybe it's just my bottle of it, or my nails, but I'm not so happy about it. It's still pretty, but not the color I actually wanted. But whatever! I still like it. The purple does show up, but not as much as I thought and not in every lighting.
What do you think of this color? Does it look purple-grey mulberry on you??
I'll see you later!
