American Apparel Butter

This is 3 coats of American Apparel Butter. My favorite yellow! I think I could have gotten away with just 2 coats if I had used a little thinner. It doesn't have the streaky issues that most yellows polishes suffer from. Gorgeous!

Claire's Yellow Brick Road

This is three coats of Claire's Yellow Brick Road. It's a nice shade of yellow, but the finish is chalky and wasn't quite nice even with a topcoat. This one's going into my stash for frankening, not to be worn again.

HI Ladies!! I'm so happy that u like my past pink konadicure, and I'm still looking for some mani that will inspires me and give me some great idea that I can remake or share with u!!
And I want to share something meaningful quote that I had learned from Lisa (GLAMMED UP)
"The mark of a true artist is being able to inspire the work of another."
thanks so much Lisa..

anyways, Just a quick post for my fauxnadicure of the day.. Im wearing essence show ur feet "in the jungle" polish this was included at Maestra's package for me! This polish is supposed to be for pedi but then I much love to use it for my mani and it's pretty green for me and I love the brush, In The Jungle is a medium jade dark green, Maestra made a great comparison of this with OPI New jade on the Black (click here) I think this is a must have for some green polish lovers!!

Tic Tac Polishes and bees

Since the last two Tic Tac polishes I had to post were black and yellow, I wanted to share a some links with you guys. A couple of our friends posted this link on facebook today. It's an article about the continued problem of dying bees. Here's another link from a website called Learn 2 Grow. It's about Sedum plants. If you can, plant some in your garden. We need bees!
Sorry I didn't have a bee manicure to post. I'll try do one one in honor of spring and post it soon.

This picture comes from the creative commons section of flickr and belongs to Brenda.

Tic Tac black. I've never worn black nail polish as a manicure, but I wanted one around to use in nail art. I never would have spent $5 or more on a black polish, so at just $1 this works just fine for me. It took 2 coats and the application didn't give me any problems.

The yellow however was awful. This is 5 coats and it probably could have used another. Typical yellow I guess. I'm gonna put it on our frankening pile. Looking at the pictures makes me want to wear yellow again. I like it a lot and it's perfect for spring.

Finger Paints Yellow Bikini

So far this is the only yellow in my collection. I tried China Glaze Solar Power which is beautiful but not with my skintone. Yellow Bikini works well though. This is 3 coats. It was a little thick and goopy but I hear that is how most yellows behave. The ring and pinky have Nail Tek Foundation II for a matte effect. Doesn't look so great with this polish. I was wearing this and I put on a red skirt and a blue shirt. I kept looking in the mirror trying to figure out what was so strange, when I finally realized that I looked like Wonder Woman going in for a day at the office. I changed clothes.
Thanks for reading.

N.Y.C. Taxi Yellow

This is a really pretty yellow, but was a pain to apply.
This is 4 coats and it was still very streaky. It also took a long time to dry.
I think I had to re-do this manicure because I messed it up.
It was also the base I used for my first Konad.

First Konad!!

April ordered us our first Konad items last week! Konad is an ingenious stamping system for nail art. I never ever thought i'd be doing nail art, but this is a lot of fun. This is their website - Konad USA.

We got our Konad items just in time to enter a contest from the KonADDICT blog. Which you can check out here. We found her blog on one of Getcha Nails Did's, New Blogs on the Block posts. The owner of the KonADDICT blog does really awesome and unique manicures with her Konads. I love her super detailed photo instructions!

These are the plates April picked out. The one with the zebra print is mine. Which is what I used this time.

Here is my first Konadicure (as most people call them).
I used N.Y.C.'s Taxi Yellow for the base and Icing's Ice Queen for the zebra print.

You can see on a few of the nails that I didn't cover the whole thing. It's really fun though. We both have lots of ideas for new ones and can't wait to show you guys!
